Maui Advanced Manufacturing Alliance
Building a resilient future for Maui.

Maui is at an inflection point.
For decades, tourism has been the backbone of our local economy. But the combined impacts of COVID and the 2023 wildfires made something painfully clear: relying on a single industry leaves our community vulnerable. If we want a resilient future for Maui—one where local families can thrive, innovate, and stay—we must intentionally invest in economic diversification rooted in place, people,
and purpose.

We're Choosing to Be Part of the Solution.
The Maui Advanced Manufacturing Alliance (MAMA) was formed to help strengthen Maui’s industrial and manufacturing ecosystem. Our efforts include creating pathways for local workforce development, supporting homegrown manufacturers, and stewarding shared-use industrial infrastructure that serves the broader community.
MAMA is launching programs in:
-
workforce training (3D printing, CNC, fabrication & manufacturing)
-
youth innovation and maker education
-
circular economy projects like Waste Plastics to Products
-
small-business support and prototyping
-
renovation of the historic 1918 Warehouse into a training + innovation center
